That's what I inferred, but if you actually read what he wrote it really doesn't make any sense. Saying "wait literally 20 years for more Beast Wars MPs" means that there were some BW MPs 20 years ago.
"Finally get an MP" means that they haven't released any MP for a long time, and that's not true.
And if I want to be extra-autistic just for the sake of it, this "literally who bozo" is actually more well known than Skids, the previous autobot car release.
Also he declared that "this is the last MP", like he's going to put a stop to the line or something.

Toy megatron, yes
Yes, but at this point, Siege megatron looks nothing like toy megatron.
The show made some adjustments, and each iteration since has too.
For them to retool siege into him and make him look right, they'd have to clip off his shoulder spikes, make his chest less wide (siege megs is beefy) and completely remold his arms. Not to mention come up with a new alt mode and replace his canon with something else entirely.
And tank treads on Xaaron do not look right.
they'd honestly be better off using the hiss tank megatron and stripping off all his kibble, or using battle call cyberverse megatron

Anon asking about Trypticon opinions on the previous thread here, the big dinosaur boy has been on my house since this morning. Still have to put all 150+ stickers on him, but I've been messing with it the whole day and the hip and tail joints seem to work correctly. Nonetheless I still had to fix a bent chest door that wouldn't stay closed, another common problem with this mold as far as I know.

I guess I should track a Siege Brunt now, shame I didn't buy one a couple of years ago when they had several of them warming shelves for a long time in a mall I frequent.

Sure. I remember searching for it on the net a couple of times long ago to no avail. I guess the best choice would be contacting my friend and asking him if he still owns it. He probably still has it in storage somewhere.

I even remember the name he gave it, "Sayonara", because the hip joints where really floppy and was unable to stay upright, so it always bowed japanese style until it face-planted.

Yeah, he has a somewhat silly look even if he's supposed to be a gigantic murder machine. He just radiates that "80s style dinosaur robot toy" of the original. Just some changes to the headsculpt would work wonders to make him more menacing looking, but I still approve of how much respect and tribute they paid to the original design.

I get what you mean, I didn't like the lack of swivels on the hands either and I would have loved if they somehow worked ratchets into the hands. In any case, I do think the Generations figure was a good attempt to modernize the toy, he can stand in a more modern T-Rex stance and the changes to his look made it look more menacing than the original toy. All those greebles and details also help highlight how huge he's supposed to be.

I think Sideways lucked out because his design is so monstruous and neat that the "car shell backpack" manages to avoid fucking up his overall look. It ends up adding to his bulk instead of making it look sloppy.

As for the chest door, mine wouldn’t stay closed either until my son broke it. I glued the broken bit (one of the tabs that acts as the fulcrum) back on with some Mr.Cement S and now it opens and closes just fine. Idk what the difference is—like a fraction of a millimeter out of whack and now it works.

Well, guess what I just managed to find! Yep, this was the one. And seems like it had a 64 instead of a 32. And about the color, I remembered that I had a car that looked close to this one with the garnet hue from my memories, so I understood that maybe I was mixing both and my friend's toy could just be plain red. Glad to see that I was not completely off, as I was pretty sure the roof was black.

in my experience you actually get a decent deal if you wait long enough and look on ebay or mercari. I got skywarp, grimlock, and even tyrannocon for .. well it wasn't 80% of the cost of the pack. It was like 10% higher than what the figure on its own should have been.

Will do, even if I dig how it looks right now. The thing about stickers is that I like them on old robots toys because they have more flat surfaces and the look just feels "correct" on them, but when I see them on modern toys with more detail it just feels like they make them look cheaper and KOish, even more so if they're foil stickers like the ones included with Trypticon. Then again they're really small and just add some little details so tomorrow I will start applying them. Only ones I'm not going to use are the ones for the eyes, I like them better as translucent orange.

As for the door, I boiled some water, gave it a fast hot bath to soften the plastic, bent it slightly in the correct position with my hands and buried it under a pile of books for half an hour. Now is almost perfectly flat and even if it isn't the strongest connection ever, it stays closed.

Not him. It works, sometimes, but that's if the figure is almost universally reviled. There's a reason people got BW Grimlock so easily, almost everyone hated the deco and sold theirs for retail because no one cared enough to pay more. It used to be easier during Siege, but now with the pandemic, getting figures from a multipack is much harder since people rarely sell them for retail.

I get the feeling that the stickers will make your Tryp look cheap. It’s entirely possible they will! I like the look of all the foil on mine because I grew up with foil stickers being the epitome of cool when placed on my toys…and Trypticon’s stickers absolutely make him look like a toy in the best, most nostalgic way.

I applied my good share of stickers as a kid too (and also as an adult, as I collected some Brave and Eldoran series toys), so I get what you're talking about, but as I said, in my case this magic only works when the toy is actually from that era. I feel the same with chrome too, great when talking about old robot toys, but I'll rather have nice metallic paint on newer ones.

More than anything, I’m getting really annoyed with them releasing a figure, and then months or a year later releasing a slightly (but significantly) better version of the figure. It’s like, that’s what you should’ve released in the first place! It almost feels like Hasbro is intentionally releasing half-baked versions of their figures as a jerky way to get fans to buy it multiple times when they release the “finished” version.

Bionicle and Exo-Force were both more industrial,
Ninjago's aesthetic is pure dogshit. I have tested the system out rather throuougly and with the clips and bars becoming more prevalenvent they are making it more possible now to actually build more mechanical joints or least fake them. A proper robot line takes a good designer and few new molds. Lego has access to both, the recent designer of these big mechs is a godsend and he no doubt played a part with this Optimus and it's new joint elements. But what I don't think Lego has is the will to commit to such original robot line. They'd rather chase after these licenses now than to produce something on their own. The designers themselves very much want for something more like Bionicle to come back but Lego is not willing to do it until they see it could actually bring them money since the latest attempt was such a failure. I've no idea how strick Gundam is but I see a collobration like that even as more likely than anything original.
