They should make a six-changer Shockwave with Robot/tank/cannon/4-legged thing with a cannon/spacecraft/satellite which is really just 3 modes if you are being generous. Then you can recolor it as Six Shot and Shockblast (retailer exclusive).

Sky Reign has Wreck-Gar, most of those are not even a full team, just alternate torsos, Unite Warriors doesn't use partner guys. If you really felt it was important, you could just just repaint Adventure Override and slap a Decepticon symbol on it for a boob.

I still don't get why did didn't do more redecos especially considering how much Hasbro loves redecos.

I can't use Wreck Gar for Sky Reign. I already have deluxe Wreck Gar for the Inferno combiner and my autism can't have him on two teams

The version of Nightstick that comes with MP Artfire is absolutely brilliant. I still can't believe they made this completely new Targetmaster mold just to go with a literal who repaint, and STILL haven't re-used it. I guess they designed it with the intention of eventually getting around to MP Cyclonus?

It's more than likely this is a case of Acid Storm having a gender, but they also used the model as part of the seeker group, so any episode it wasn't voiced, the script probably had the character listed as being around, but not singled out or talking. So when the character was voiced, they bothered making Acid Storm female.

It only annoys me because, like you said, the gender could be revealed soon enough and most likely it'll be a male, but people like Khajiha really do comb though all the characters and jump and the chance to bring up that the gender isn't specified, even old pages that were long since done, just so he can shove a bunch of theys in there (look at the talk pages for some of these characters)
Like other people have pointed out, if there's even a glitch or typo, they go all giddy to push this nonsense

Aside from trying to get the head to come out for bot mode I don't have any issues transforming them, but I do worry that Runamuck in particular is going to look really scabby in a couple of years from the mix of being white, being mostly coated in paint, and the paint being of a weird chalky texture. Runabout might fair better since aside from the back half of the vehicle, he's mostly unpainted black plastic.

I think what bothers me most about the ER ones is the alt mode. I actually care about alt modes, and the WFC trilogy really threw a lot of them under the bus, which is probably why I've found it so easy to keep my wallet closed. Like, I guess this isn't the worst, but I feel like it's only a few panel lines away from being Universe Ironhide levels of scrappy.

If I decided I REALLY had to have a Runamuck and Runabout in my collection, I think I'd just hunt down the old TFCC versions made from the CHUG Wheeljack mold, because I'm still not convinced this mold is as "outdated" as everyone wants me to think it is. I love all the extra gold details and how the orange all hides away in alt mode.

It's really like the only flaw I'll personally acknowledge, and even then, I don't think it's a big one. You can still do plenty of bent-knee poses without having to move the windshield at all.

Its insane how many Transformers writers for shit like Funpub or IDW are just random assholes who posted a lot on Alt.toys.transformers for years and got a job because the publisher didn't know shit about transformers and took the first nerd to come to them and figures, "Yeah sure." Comics and books are relatively minor influence compared to the tv shows and movies, sure, but the show and movie writers then consult the wikis that embrace even minor shit like Ask Vector Prime as gospel, and in turn this influences the shows and future fiction. Its crazy, a clique of old nerds just manning the boat below the decks.

For comparison, Masters of the Universe fans are still seething over one guy running their fiction for years, and it wasn't even anything major, just bios. Transformers fiction is so mishandled your only credentials needed for writing for it is "having an internet connection in the 90's."

I think the only time I really felt hate towards those nerds was when they made that Animated character model book but put in hidden coded messages from "Vector Prime" that could retcon any non-Animated show they felt like. At that point it stops being cute.

The little studs to hold rather firmly into the holes at the base of the boom. I think I ended up glueing them and slightly boring out the inside to turn it into a 5mm port, which is slightly larger than a lego hole.

Yeah, I can't recall what my first lightpiped toy was, but I remember being really impressed with the concept; no need for batteries like with electronic lights, and no need to turn off the lights like with glow in the dark. It was some kind of magical new idea that was the best of both worlds.

Definetely a hard style to do since its a mixture of soft and hard details, I suppose you need to get a bunch of references of his face at different angles to help shape the model.

I had to struggle to think of some yellow. Obviously there's Soundwave whenever Hasbro feels like using the toy color, and MP Cheetor has a lightpipe too. Shockwave has repeatedly tried yellow lightpipes but they almost always fail to ignite the way you'd want them to, and the MP figure even retooled his head to remove his because of how ineffective it was. Oh, Beast Machines might have some good light piping, that line was obsessed with the stuff.

It was an upgrade kit from Dr. Wu, I think. It was intended for Titans Return Seaspray, but the nub on the back end of the harpoon plugs perfectly into Voyager Seaspray's blasters. It's such a perfect fit I feel like it was purposefully designed to do this as a bonus, but I've never seen any documentation of it.

Maybe. Cartoon Seaspray appears more rounded, and has bigger eyes, which always lend to cuteness. I like the look of the TR toy a lot, but the original toy mold is definitely more in-line with the cuteness of the cartoon.

Well remaking Dreadwing/Smokescreen is pretty much guaruteed for G2 since they are the most famous new mold G2 toys outside of Megatron and Optimus Prime themselves and have lots of redeco fodder, so maybe that will be there instead. Although I wonder if making Dirgegun and Thrustinator as a retool of the recent Waspinator would be viable.

Originally, Dreadwing AND Smokescreen were BOTH supposed to be new guys
for some reason they just wrote Dreadwing into being Dreadwind rebuilt, and cut out Smokescreen entirely from the comics
in the japanese version, they were both new guys until it was retconned that smokescreen was the smokescreen we know.

Transformers Generations Dirge

Another redo of Classics Starscream done up in iconic blue and brown. Little bits of black here and there too.
Is Dirge based off a real jet or are these wings more or less a complete fabrication?

Dirge was the last of the Classics seekers released at mainline retail, I want to say.
Probably because he's the least popular.
At least the stripes on his wings look cool.

I have to say I really like Dirge's deco in robot mode.
The brown takes a backseat for all this black. And it's a really nice glossy black too.
I don't even mind that the red wing stripes have completely disappeared.
What we have instead is a 'con that know how to properly accessorize by matching his shoes and his belt.

Articulation sticks to being 2006 tier of course.
Ball joint hips with a very good range so long as you get the the leg wings and over sized null rays to play nice.
Universal joints and the shoulders, 90 degree hinges at the knees and elbows.
Swivels at the neck and below the knees, and a bit of outward butterfly movement at the shoulder.

Siege Shockwave, if you can find him. He's a really cool toy and pretty much the definitive CHUG Shockwave. Admittedly Shockwave seems to be one of those guys whose toys almost always come out good so if there's a version you like the design of better and can get for a good price then it's probably safe.

SHockwave was one of the few unique MP molds in my collection I easily sold off without regrets. Go with the Siege version instead. the armor gimmick is super fun

Are stress marks on SS car Dropkick's knees common? I want to know if I just fucked up so spectacularly at transforming him that I messed him up or if this is just how he is.
I love how he looks, but man, getting everything aligned was a fucking nightmare, I never managed to get his doors flush0. May never transform him again, tragically.
I got him in the 2 pack with VW Bee, who was also a fiddly pos, but somehow Dropkick frustrated me even more.
