Even has a chromed out trumpet and more stuff, very very good package, it would be interesting to get some Lego civil war stuff along side the Calvary Union, Indians, Cowboys and Bandits, that would make a pretty good western theme and summary sorta deal, but not exactly the best for the “new” image

Anyways, I feel like battle packs for the Confederates and the Union would likely be good, the Union appearing much more overall while the Confederate faction having a rather small ammount of appearances due to being in the south, so like two sets. The main focus would be on the Union soldiers and Cowboys vs Indians and Bandits, none of the four factions really trusting each other while there’s stuff like more neutral factions such as Ranchers and The Sheriff/general townsfolk he’s trying to keep protected, of course we are gonna have big sets like the Indian base and the Union one as well, a town, a ranch, and a bandits hideout or two while the cowboys generally lurk around some sets

Imagine in one of the cowboy sets one of the bottles has Varnish on it, also do you mean Bison? But stuff like referencing something Spagetthi type westerns with one of the cowboy sets, The variety of guns including the spin around turrets and other variety of weird little tools would be fun, and of course one of the sets having a burning down wooden building. A lot can be done with such a more expansive western theme

It is one of the last castles that fully incorporates BURPs, corner wall panels, an army, and a dragon.

This set was MSRP $100 and that was a fucking steal. It is a whole wide fully enclosed castle, AND the dragon! 10 minifigs too or whatever.

The last good value castle set. 100 bux. Heck, it was even on clearance at one point.

Compare it to the current creator castle or whatever, the value is not close, check the weights.

I got it just fir animals and rescuers but I enjoyed the mission system.

It does, this was honestly my most anticipated set. I'll still probably get it and try to modify it back to the old version. Could keep the pianist though, I like her design and stylization. Also I'm pretty sure it's still a figure designed by the original taiwanese dude, since this was an update to his submission a while ago.

just do what I do, buy a set that will qualify you for the GWP, but I make sure that it is also sold by one of my local targets. so I go to the lego store, buy the set, get the gwp, then go to target and return the set I bought at the lego store without a receipt and get target gift card and keep the GWP literally free. I buy plenty of shit there anyway so it works out fine for me. you just can't do this too many times because target will flag you but I've done it like 3 times.

What's the prices difference on these? I got back into Lego when the first Jurassic Park reboot happened (the one with the bubble vehicle? I know it was in Dimensions) and I never picked up a single set because they were without a doubt the most expensive sets with so few pieces and the bulk of the cost being the dino figs. Not him, but I feel like the level of articulation they had was fine, maybe flappy wings on the pterodactyl, but the usual mouths and tails was fine on the bigger dinos and having studs on the backs is always nice.

Oh yeah, I remember the comics.
Germany is pretty big on radio/audio plays. They recorded an entire original script with sound effects and all the stuff. Pretty good voice actors too.
They even went so far to look at each individual set in the line and tried to incorporate the little tricks in the design into the story.
So if you had the sets you could recreate your favorite moments from the story.

Sure, though in that particular picture it triggers me the color mismatch. I know they were released like that in other sets but I always thought the combination they use in the ship and research compound sets is best and feels like the "correct" one: Brown stegosaurus, orange legs; Dark grey Triceratops, light grey legs.

It works just fine, I doubt there's trickery involved in this photo. It's not as stable as lego's usual standards, for sure, but if you handle it with care it would make for a good static piece. As it is a studded plate on the base would certainly help a little with stability, but i'd have to agree with the other anon, she's a bit wonky and i'd wager that was balanced pretty precariously for the photo and a gentle breeze would blow it over.

With that said you could probably modify the legs in a way to allow you to run a hidden technic axle up the full length of that planted leg internally, maybe a flag post from the reverse side of the base up into the bottom of the leg or just a technic pin into the base plate and she'd be pretty solid.

Piecing together vintage sets has become a nightmare. Almost no sellers have a good variety of vintage pieces in good condition. And the ones that do want like $2+ a brick. I bought a black seas barracuda that was missing 80 of it's 845 parts and those alone are setting me back $100 after shipping from 5 different sellers. Nothing big even missing like hulls or sails. And three quarters of the replacement parts are used and I have to hope they're decent quality. I feel like I would've been better off buying a second incomplete one and just making 1 complete set out of the two.

If you don't have an existing fuck huge misc parts collection to draw from it really can get really pricey real quick when you start factoring in postage etc, but a Black Seas Barracuda is always worth it.

At least your hull/sails are intact though, the hull of last pirate ship I bought had fucking teeth marks in it, edges gnawed and the underside had the o shaped pins crushed.

My original plan was to sell the figs and transform an ewok village but that retired and went up in value so I just sold it unopened because I wasn't liking the mix of browns used and the lack of foliage for a forestman moc.

Now I'm just waiting on the anniversary castle for the parts to start a moc. Castle pieces have been so hard to come by for a decent price.

In retrospect this was a pretty shit set, but i'd be lying if I said it wasn't one of my favourites. Same goes for some of the Rock Raiders sets, even though they contained some ghastly and completely unnecessary prefab pieces (namely the vehicle bases, the cockpits were rad though). As a kid, I didn't like the gigantic pieces lego was starting to use in the early 2000s as well. I got King Leo's castle as a birthday gift and remember being pretty disappointed in it. At face value, it's cool being that it's a big castle playset, but I always thought that it would be better to have more bricks than gigantic panel pieces. Earlier castle had a lot of panels but they were really mixed well in with smaller bricks for a good effect, parts felt more versatile and figures were more mass-able and focus on army building rather than individual character.

Some themes did it better than others. Alpha Team used a ton of gigantic parts with low piece counts but it seems to fit that aesthetic better. Plus it's a theme not rooted in realism so it felt like big assemblies went with one another better.

Now, sets like the blimp and rock raiders are just oddities of their time. And we tend to overlook their shortcomings and focus on what was unique at the time that we remember.

The fact that they were angled at either end really limited their application as well. Just had a quick look and they were only ever used in 2 Rock Raiders sets then a single City set some six years later.

1. Minifigures don't bother me much unless they're going to a complete vintage set that's important to me.

For most of my mocs, I use modern colors and then put in vintage figs because I like how soulful the vintage figs are. There's a lot less pieces available and it's a lot less accessible and more expensive to build in old grays, otherwise I would since I prefer them.

I work for Australia Post and here, at least, Amazon boxes and bags are pretty generic. Unless they've got a new show or movie they're pushing, in which case the box will become a billboard for it that happens to also contain your items.

Generally we don't care what's in your parcel or what you're ordering and for the most part we don't judge you for it when we do know what you're getting. On those rare occasions that we do judge you, it's not because you're buying Lego. It'll be for something like you regularly order a bunch of heavy stuff that's a pain in the ass to deal with (in which case we'll call you an asshole as we load up), or because your house is a junk laden hoarders abode. Or if you get several boxes of alcohol sent to you every week, we might groan and call you an alcoholic, but that goes back to how we feel about people ordering heavy stuff.

tl;dr Delivery drivers don't care if you're buying/receiving Lego
