I think the transparent glitters are way less sought after than just pure transparent.

I wonder if TLG started only supplying glitter plastic to the suspected bootleg manufacturing factories to help weasel out which locations were making them.

I'm a little sad I never got a purely transparent purple monofig.

Though, last month I bought a 200+ euro set and the seller assured me it was owned by a collector and had no signs of playwear, I open the set and 20% of parts have bitemarks, heavy scratches and are dirty as fuck. I'm in the process of returning it.

Holy fuck, what set was it?
I really dislike buying used Lego for this reason, unless the set was released in the past 2 - 3 years, I try to buy NISB as the older the set is, the more likely it has issues

I didn't mention, nor was I talking about the sellers with 100-1000s of minifigs. Just because two things appear to be similar (stores with larger qualities of promo sets and stores with large quantities of minifigs) doesn't mean they are. Someone asked how stores with promo sets get so many and they were given an answer, which a retard then dismissed as "shill cope", which is what I'm calling retarded. This doesn't then mean that there isn't potentially something dodgy about the minifigs.
But it does show that there are potentially legitimate explanations for the high quantities and it also shows that even if there are legitimate and legal explanations, the retards will still stick their heads up their ass' and scream about it a scam/dodgy/shill cope/whatever.

Good point, I just don't think things line up when further investigating what those sellers add to their stores around the time they list GWPs
If they spend $2k - $6k on sets to get a shit ton of Forest Hideout GWPs, where does all the stock go? Nothing was added or parted out around the time these stores added the GWPs, and one seller listed 30 of them on release day, then continued listing retired minifigs and random small parts after that
Makes zero sense business-wise

My entire extended family and all of their friends order Lego through me so I can get all their good boy points. They all know I'm a big lego builder so that's been the norm for several years now - they say what they want to get one of my nieces and I put in the order and get it shipped to them. This leaves me with a fuck ton of points but most of the actual merch is going to children.

I understand the suspicion but that's well within scope of what I experience. My monthly budget is approximately $1000 to get everything I want and still pull profit. Add on top of that all the sets my family buys and it's easily multiple thousands. Despite this, my storefronts are also mostly promo/gwp sets because 1)literally where the value is and 2) almost *everything else* is in a child's playroom or my own collection.

What's your all time favorite Lego figure/animal?
For me, it's the original Fluffy. I used to be obsessed with it and would take it everywhere with me. I'd take it to the public pool, on car rides, the park, and outside. I used to build houses for Fluffy and would draw cartoons and stories about Fluffy. This little nigga is my all time favorite toy. Played with him so much the little nubs that hold the head pieces down got completely worn, I had to permanently superglue the heads in place so they wouldn't constantly slide off.

Aaaargh, I'm so done. Nearly All my MOCs even the micro spaceships, that I used lego clips in are falling apart because the clips just loose their grip overtime. They weren't even storen in a hot or humid place or something.

And its fucking unpredictable too, sometimes they star firm and strong and there is no telling why! Is it the color? Is it because it's an O clip or an U clip? Haha no, same 4 of the same kind, 3 gets loose and falls off the model but 1 stays so strong you can barely move it!

Cyber Strikers really are the best of the bunch. They have a stable platform for the extender puncher things, and come with both big technic figs.

The punching mechanic is different so if anything they compliment the Tarakava. If I had to pick a set to get it'd be that one.

Sort of a lame technocrat thing to get excited over, but I just bought another 4 copies of the megaladon monster truck as parts mules because they feature rare and extremely useful pins. One special pin has a technic side and a system stud side, except the technic side has those friction ridges that keep it from rattling or spinning, and the other is a 3-long pin without the stop ring so you can push it straight into a stack of 3 holes. 13 of the first and 2 of the latter, each. The system pins with friction are HUGE for me because I can integrate system details into my builds without them rattling. The difference in cohesive feel is like night and day. The images have been posted several generals back so I'm going to wait for new images to post more, but my primary project is a deeply modified version of the 42139 ATV, and these pins have been huge for incorporating details like handholds and plastic trim all over the otherwise-technic build. Having a stimulus of 52 more of those friction pins is gonna be a nice treat.

The sum price of all the parts in the inventory + shipping + tip is more than buying the kit for under msrp in a retail setting. They were on sale so I just swept the shelf. I really like having so many of the fancypants pins but I will use lots of the other parts as well so it's worth it.

I understood the other explanations, but at the same time, it doesn't apply to everyone; we're focusing on stores with hundreds of licensed minifigs or rare parts, not every store that has thousands of bulk pieces
Not to mention that there were bootlegs being made within Lego factories, as I've said a hundred times now, that were being sold on Bricklink, so there is evidence of dodgy shit going on

yeah i might, they're the OG Blacktron minifigs - I bought the 2009 reissue because I wanted the nicer/crisper printed torso; they're pretty easy to mix up because the only visible difference is yellow hands
The 2018 reissue is even worse because it's the exact same, but with a nicer print & newer style :) head

How the fuck is anyone even running a bricklink store at this point? There's no way there's still a big enough supply of people not knowing how valuable Lego is and selling to them cheap, I can't understand how it's viable. You'd be surprised, a lot of people in fact don't know/don't care about the potential value of their old legos and just want them gone. Pic related was 15 maplebucks at a garage sale; a few of the minifigs alone were easily worth that much and then some. It can take a fair amount of hunting to get lucky with such deals though, and there are always resellers looking to scoop them up before anyone else.

I use Bricklink more often than I buy sets from retail, it's extremely good for sourcing minifigures in bulk, old sets, parts for MOCs, etc.
I will say that it's not viable to sell parts unless you have an established inventory, disposable income to buy more stock to part out, and space/time to sort everything
It's a full-time job at that point, but once you get big enough you can actually turn it into a business of your own that'll pay bills and keep a roof over your head.
For the most part though, it's almost always people just selling their collections to fund new purchases; the bread & butter is in minifigures for the most part, so a good thing to do is buy them in bulk & then wait until the set retires to sell them off. You'll almost always profit.

That means they'd have to have parted out 160 of the set they came in (2 per set) which is not the case as there's no other parts in their store
One possibility is that they got the piglets through the Lego Store minifig bins, as I know they have animals in there every so often (a friend of mine got a bunch of penguins that way) but it's unrealistic that they'd have acquired 321 of them that way, which is why it alarms me

For me adventurers got one perfect wave, that is egypt. Amazon was good, east asia and dino was just ok. Castle and space got numerous 10/10 faction and sets. Even if you love all adventurers waves its 4 vs something like 15-20 waves of castle and space.

My guess is, both a filled with faggots and woketards, like Bionicle, Dungeons and dragons and Star Wars. Adventurers, which is pretty much a rip off of Indiana Jones, is "cancelled" because it involves a straight white male taking objects from sterotypes of different culture, and features Germanic or Nazi villains that wehraboo can project themselves on.

Facebook marketplace is great for lego. Just sort by "local pickup" and find the boomer selling their child's lego collection while they're away at college. I have regularly picked up lots of star wars sets, entire mountains of loose lego, or miles of train track for 20 bucks. Trick is, after you've negotiated with everyone in your area you've kind of dried up your market.

I have a relatively small BL store, 3000-ish lots, and I still get like couple of orders a week. Mostly I just keep it as a personal stockpile that I can steal parts off when I need some, and if it gets me some pocket change, cool too. However very rarely I add stuff these days, unless it's a very good discount for sealed sets to part out

Basically those themes have more flexibility and room for creativity. I have a soft spot for adventurers, but I see how it wouldn't appeal to as many people.
Adventurers has a specific list of characters and has less room for worldbuilding. With castle or space, if you have 10 of the same knight or astronaut minifigs you just have 10 knights or astronauts. If you have 10 Johnny Thunders it's weird. Of course you can create new characters, but not from the sets alone.
With adventurers, there's basically one main scenario you can build around. The gang go to ancient temple/dino island to get treasure/dinos and have to fight the bad guys for it. You can do intermediate scenes around these (eg bad guys ambush good guys to stop them finding the treasure map) but it all centres around the same goal and premise. Because finding treasure is what the adventurers do. Adventurers presents a scenario, castle and space present worlds. Castle and space are much more open ended. You can have a peaceful castle town, or a siege/battle between two armies, or humans banding together to defend against skeletons, or a knight slaying a dragon to save a princess, or the forestmen sneaking into a castle to rescue a prisoner. You can have spacemen exploring new planets and making contact with aliens, you can have spacemen chilling on their moonbase and studying rocks, you can have space freighters transporting supplies to the colonies, you can have humans fighting an alien invasion, you can spend spacemen on a rescue mission for another spaceman who ran out of fuel somewhere. You could have the spacemen travelling through time and visiting the castle guys if you really want. You can give your characters a wider range of motivations, goals, and backstories.

Reminder that the 10305 Lion Knight's Castle is nostalgia bait for Redditors that Lego knows will distract them from ever wanting another original medieval/castle theme. Same goes for the 10497 Galaxy Explorer and never getting another original space theme.

Lego doesn't give a shit about 1.) making another original theme and 2.) making cool sets for their existing original themes, which all are kept on life support with the uninspired sets that they pump out. Lego is too busy maintaining their licensed themes, which take no effort to make sets as they just take the source material, downsize it, and make it out of bricks.

The entire point of the Ideas theme that people froth over is so Lego doesn't have to waste time actually designing anything and can pawn it off on creative MOC builders. The new Icons theme is currently mostly Ideas and Creator Expert sets that they labeled "iconic" and threw into Lego Icons. Future Icons sets will just be nostalgia bait.

Go look back at axed Lego themes of the 2000s and see the level of set/value that you're never going to get again. Even if a lot of the 2000s themes were revivals of previous themes, they were still original and had cool sets.

Mk IV, i think i did a decent job, the profile isnt as retarded as it was before, ive been working with a major constraint since light grey i own very little of as through the various moves through my life ive lost significant portions of my parts collection but i think it looks a lot better

front wheels are affixed for the time being because i bought this set as a partial complete since it was the only version sub $150 and i was sure as hell not paying $200 for a model that I was going to modify anyways bc Lego really thought flat staggered tiles was ok for the sloped hood of the DeLorian lmfao
