Would you say sculpting is getting less character specific on MLs? It seems like with some exceptions like Psycho Man (for whatever reason who got tons of stuff), they are skimping on 'character unique' pieces that they could glue on. Like Black Cat's fluffy fur is just a line on her new fig.

I still gotta paint the dyed parts black and seal it, but holy shit this picture doesn't do justice to how much better I like the silhouette of this figure now. I am less annoyed with the Mafex being delayed.

I like it! My only gripe is the glove seam at the wrist. Not a big deal but it's one of those minor things I'd not care too much about but would be annoyed by once in awhile. Do the bulkier shoulders get full range out of the butterflies?

Same, maybe slightly better. Back, forward and around are the same. I think they could both go higher, but I feel like that's gonna start damaging the plastic.

And yeah, the wrist thing is there, definitely notice it in hand. I think that's their new system for characters with different wrist parts, instead of floating accessories they'll just sculpt new lower forearm parts. Also for color changes on outfits.

Especially now that I have the retro release and the Mafex on the way. Did you though? The shoulders are an improvement for sure but you swapped the head for a far worse one, and maybe it's just the angle of your pic but the legs look entirely too large for that torso. I'd say you've turned a 7/10 figure into a 7/10 figure with a different set of problems.

Disregard my comments about the legs, I didn't scroll down far enough to see >>9902233 it was the low angle of your first pic that made the legs look off. I still think I'd prefer the original feet, feels more Spider-Man style, and definitely the classic head but yeah, that's an improvement for sure.

The retro head is far better and more accurate to the first appearance of the black suit as well as the animated series. The head on the first release always bugged me because of how big the eyes were.

I don't mind the bigger eyes when they're closer to how Todd actually drew them. The Mafex for example has very accurately shaped eyes and I find the looks of those very appealing. Something about the shape of the eyes on that original ML bugged me. They work far better for Scarlet Spider like >>9902388 mentions.

The shape of the MLs are ever so slightly off than it bothers me. They definitely work better as the Scarlet Spider. Pic related is the Mafex and it looks just so much more authentic. The ML is closer to the second head but it's still not quite right. The black suit is my favorite alt costume of all time so I'm kind of a sticker for the details.

It's something like that. Either way, when they announced the retro release I was so happy because of how the eyes were shaped closer to the TAS look. Same with the style of spider on the suit. I definitely prefer the retro style even though the original MLs spider didn't bug me. Then Mafex announced there's like the next week. I ended up facing and just getting both because I'm a Spider whore.

His videos are pretty clickbait when you think about it. Most of his opinons seem to be deliberately contrarian. Originally I thought it was just because he's lazy and can't bother to inform himself of the source material of whatever figure he's reviewing, but then this also extends to his review style. He'll give something that is 100% a reuse a high score but then gives a stellar figure like Kang a deliberately low score since he knows it'll generate views and discussion. It's hard to believe he isn't deliberately reviewing toys in a weird contrarian way because a subset of viewers get off on him being overly critical.

And let's not even begin to get into his severe lack of understanding human anatomy. For someone that supposedly took an anatomy class in college, it sure isn't showing in his various mockups of figures.

Now that we've established this, let's avoid talking any further about some dork who talks about toys on youtube and talk about the actual toys themsleves. Do you guys feel the new RYV Spidey is worth the upgrade from the retro release? Personally, I do because A.) I would've gotten Spinnerette regardless, but the new toe joints are just going to be great for spider posing. And while I normally don't care much about pinless, Spider Man is pretty much the one if the few characters where visible pins actually hurt the figure.

They weren't always beefy STRONG GUY level character builds.

In fact most characters had Captain America's build, and being that most of their costumes are tight fitting spandex/whatever material over muscles.

It would make absolutely no sense to get a new sculpt except head/accessories. so I have no idea what your vision of a perfect line would be.

Ironman needs resculpt to fit his 200000 armors. Sometimes there is repaint but mostly re-sculpt.

They gave us some special updated Cap/Ironman/Hulk/Thor to coincide with 80th anniversary of Marvel that theyre now repainting and I'm ok with that.

Hell, I'd be happy with Spider-man Molded White with black spots all over... cuz I want THE SPOT.

I fucking love this ZD Toys Mk 5. Mk 5 was my favorite suit in the movies even though it had but a few minutes of screen time. Great suit up and battle scenes. It was 40 total after shipping and I really don't regret it. It's got a couple of paint blemishes near the arc reactor which is a little annoying but thankfully I can easily brush it off as battle damage.

Even if you're not into mixing toy lines I really recommend it if you loved the Mk 5. If I had to rate the articulation I'd say it's a step above ML. The shoulders pull out to mimic butterflies, ball joint in the waist pulls up for better movement, and the hips drop down. It stomps on the ML movie suits in detail and paint work though.

The hip and thighs are probably gonna look way too different since they're both different sizes. I think the issue I have is that it looks like a leg with boots and not a symbiote infested leg (which should be tapered and "slim").

I'll admit the joints were tight, but I've come to expect that from ml's recently. Beats them being a floppy mess. I was a bit dissapointed by a lack of wrist articulation due to the gauntlets. That seemed like a cheap move on hasbros part.

I don't think it's a case of Hasbro cheating out, they just made the decision to sculpt the gauntlets as one piece as it should be. I'd much rather the forearm cut than breaking up the gauntlets like the previous Shocker.

Early figures are not stolen, most of complete ml figures in full package are not stolen, stop making shit up.
Hasbro main company don't have direct contact with the factories in China, instead they hire another company in HongKong to make order. This company is also the distributor in the Asia region but since figures always go to them first, they tend to act as distributors to other regions as well. When they receive the earliest batch of figures, they ship them to other region except US because there is way less demand for ml figures outside US and the shipping cost to US is quite high. When later batches with more figures come out, they can consolidate and ship to the largest market US all at once.
