I wouldn't say that's the primary reason at all, they're inexpensive and they make a huge variety of characters. That's the appeal. Being able to have a huge team of various Avengers or X-Men or whatever team you want is just a side effect of how many different characters Hasbro ends up making.

Pretty much this. The buck system isn’t ideal obviously but most costumes are simple enough that it is adequate and it’s not economically feasible for every d lister to have their own dedicated body mold. I do think for shit like spider-man and wolverine there is an inexcusable amount of reuse for a character that sells every time but it is what it is.

100%. That, and that import companies won’t ever make like 90% of the characters/costumes Legends makes. Mafex has been stepping up their game lately: if you like Spider-Man or X-Men, you can probably find something you like, and it’s almost guaranteed to be better than the ML. But for every other company, if you’re lucky enough to get something that isn’t movie-based, chances are that it’s not a deep cut or a team character.
I can’t see Figuarts, Revoltech, or Mafex ever touching the Fantastic Four. I guess you’ve got Mezco but aside from that…

Anon, there are figures that come out and the "current market rate" for them on ebay and mercari is already double MSRP, while they are still in stores. It's scalping.

I want this but not for a hundred. I don't hate this version of Venom like some do. Venom/Eddie has always had some goofiness to him. I know there are people who like his full on villain days more, but I've always been a fan of his anti-hero days and helping Spidey over trying to kill him. Perhaps another reason I liked him as Anti-Venom a lot.

I have this and don't really like how it looks over all. Like I know this is a better more articulated figure, but I prefer the ML Monster Venom to this guy just for aesthetic alone. His mid section is really wobbly and his proportions look off to me. He's not bad I've just grown less fond of it over the years. Mafex KO Venom is great so I assume the real deal is even better.

That's the thing though about liking a popular character. You're always going to have options and if you really like the character probably collect a bunch of different figures of it from different lines. It's why I find charm in the ML line as a whole because they make some figures you'd never see elsewhere. Though while I don't hate the MCU it has taken over quite a bit of shelf space as of late. I blame that more on the Marvel/Disney side over Hasbro as I'm sure there's mandates to make figures for marketing even if Hasbro is certain they won't sell.

I like clawed toes sometimes when they look monster-like and clawed. The toes are probably my main gripe about the movie Venom figures. They look so weird. Especially the ML where it looks like he's about to give someone a toejob.

About fucking time too. Hasbro, Mafex, and SHF has always had gripes that for whatever reason, consoom fanboys here always ignore:

Hasbro: Spamming reuse + inaccuracies from time to time. Cheap plastics, and so on. Oftentimes have terrible value for $$$ + decreasing accessories.

Mafex: The Diaper is really the only issue from a figure standpoint because it's hard to ignore. I often wonder if on a Spider-Man, that Mafex could just fuse the belt piece with the diaper and make the lower stomach on a ball joint to hide the diaper. QC has gotten better but that might just be RNG on my end.

SH Figuarts: that retarded hip/groin/thigh cut that makes no sense and offers no better range than Revoltech.

This is not true. There are figures where this is perfectly hidden (Hush Batman + Superman + Upcoming Comic Iron Man comes to mind), but the diaper looks horrible on the Spider-Man figures, especially when it starts to interfere with the belt.

Depends what you're looking for. Mafex currently has the market cornered for the first appearance Comic Venom. AY made arguably the best monster Venom. SHF will obviously take the crown for Movie Venom, but considering the huge price gap Marvel Legends will serve just as well.

They obviously are made to cater to children, who still want to "play" with figures that move a bit. Kids don't really care either way, which is why you'll see in literally every line figures that are made for younger kids (ie, figures that can't be posed or otherwise figurines/statues) figures that have limited POA (think the titan hero series etc) and then move on to the collector mindset where you have Marvel Legends on the cheaper end and then high end shit like the hot toys.

Not sure what that says about the brand of alcohol I used.
Despite having a smaller peg, Magik's spiky arm just pops right in. It's a little loose, but not enough for me to care about "fixing" it.
The only thing I have to do now is work up the nerve to cut America's legs off at the calves and attack Magik's boots.
The GR head, as everyone said, is far too big, and America's neck peg is so fat it won't even fit on. I'm going to have to look into a third-party alternative or learn to 3D model

God this figure's tail and perma hunch sucked so bad. I remember seeing some guy get rid of the hunch and mod the tail but that shit is too much effort. The sculpt is amazing though, much better than what we get today and that doesn't even feel like it was that long ago when it came out. Such a shame that Hasbro fucked it up.

Venom's forearms look like shit, the veins only being there and on the hands throws off the entire look of the figure, should've just plastered veins all over the body. Shoulders are still too small, Brock's face looks weird, butterfly joint definitely won't have enough range. Venom face looks alright but there have been better ones, might sit a tad bit too high on the neck. Feet look good and are accurate. Shoulder tendrils are nice. Needs additional paintwork to bring out the generally solid sculpt.

Is that the Moonstone body? If not I truly don't care for it. Looks flat as all living hell, easily looks like the figure that will be lacking the most QC in person. Not much that really can be said for this figure.

Great body as seen from Monster Venom, fucked up by using the wrong blue. Should've gone with a much darker blue, similar to that on the packaging. Also fucked up by having Riot be standing tall rather than Hunched as was the case for MV. Expression looks weird, way too happy looking. Eyes should be tilted instead of flat. Legs could probably be slightly longer and a tiny bit wider if one were to keep him fully upright. The purple spots need to be darker. Like every Hasbro figure this needs more paint or at least a wash to help it. And more accessories but who cares.

Honestly I don't really see why you'd get this 3-pack considering there's a lot of solid Venoms other than collecting accessories/ bucks for potential kitbashing. If you don't care about JUST Lethal Protector, Monster Venom (either version) is still holding up to this day and is the ol reliable for Venom as a whole.

The upper body alone gives this figure so much more life. If they had made the legs bigger / more range to match the upper body this figure would've been great. It's a shame to see Hasbro drop the ball on the Pizza Spider-Man mold so hard.

Even if it's not as nice as the prototype, this figure still has my preferred proportions for Spider-Man. I wish they would make a newer version of this mold and do it justice by copying the Classified articulation setup with the dumbbell in the waist and dropdown hips

I was disappointed that Shang-Chi's shoulders didn't become standard for that mold. He looks so much better proportioned with the larger shoulders.

It's $75 plus shipping. If it were a regular release in Japan you'd be paying about that for it. I've seen some SHFs way more expensive on there. The Mandalorian and Mando Luke Skywalker for example are more than $100 each.

Like I said, this one of the few recent releases that actually price out fairly equally if you were to import it with a middle man. Hell you might get charged more with a middle man so. It really isn't that big of a deal. It's not like how SHF Venom is $120 on there.

It WAS 120 when I put in my order for the Venom, but now when I go look at my pre order they've bumped it to 129.99, which is fucking scummy as shit--I want it at the price I agreed to pay for it.
