how is the 4chan/channel split done, like in web infrastructure?
for a while i was confused, i would login to my pass and it would work fine on 4chan, but then i would go to 4channel and realized it wasn't working, was still getting captcha.
this became a problem today when apparently a range ban went into effect around my native IP (eugene OR). was like whatever i'll just use my pass, but then it didn't work and i couldn't figure out why. then i noticed the login button and clicked it, and was brought to a fucking blue board login.
couldn't believe it and so decided to test by logging out of my red board pass (apparently that's a thing) and sure enough i could post.

so to recap: i'm range banned on blue boards, but NOT on red boards. and my pass works on both but i have to log into them separately.
why the fuck is it like this from a network infrastructure perspective and who thought this was a good idea?
