The default post view in Reddit is that it shows you the most upvoted posts, which means if your views differ from the norm, you're now in the minority, and you have to manually filter through things or change comment sorting options or even toggle posts just to view those things. This is dangerous because the general consensus is not necessarily correct, it's just the most popular.
I'm not saying 4chan is better, I'm saying they are fundamentally different. Especially regarding the niche boards here, you'll get called a fag or a nigger and then someone else will post their opinion, or they'll just greentext your post and say "lol" or post a reaction image. You might also get some people agreeing with you, or even just parts of your post. The point is, everyone sees it, and it's not hidden because not enough people liked what you said.
