I specifically mentioned Lickitung because no one gave a fuck about it, GameFreak didn't give a fuck and stuck it in the final dungeon of the game when you already had your team set up and not even the anime staff cared to use it when Jesse had one on her. Once Lickilicky came in, everyone suddenly loved Lickitung. The beta design isn't all that spectacular either.
I won't say GF listened to the complaints, but we're only now getting interesting evolutions again as of Gen VIII, so I'd say enough people bitched enough for them to hold off on them for a while. Gen V's way of handling evos made me want Gen VI to do a lot of evos for Gen V's lineup, but alas.
