Anything that makes his self insert look bad is something he can't handle. He used to be a fan of alain, until alain beat Ash. He used to post fanfics about Ash going on serious adventures and catching legendaries, and then Goh + Liko did those instead. He used to say anipoke is supposed to be episodic, and then HZ turned into an episodic. He used to be a promoter of school settings, but then Liko went to school.

Speaking of Alain, if you want a laugh then go to b4k and search "another Alain" with quotes. The variety of characters he's accused of being "another Alain" and his reasoning for that is absurd. Anyone who doesn't get defeated by Ash is another Alain to him.

Do boys develop in any meaningful way in the franchise? Because as far as development goes for Roy i think the most we can expect is him getting good which is perfectly ok mind you but i was curious. Maybe he becomes more serious like Ash over time? i don't know

SM. The OS has a lot of scenes where Pikachu is just in the background doing goofball shit while the humans talk. That personality goes away for a while when Pikachu becomes the senior citizen of Ash's Pokemon, but they start using him more as a goof in SM.

SM had smoother animation in action unlike the jerky shit which XY did.

Also, while I'm not an Ashfag, it sure felt more fun to watch SM over PM2023. I just liked the way SM was animated over PM2023.

Let me tell all of you the actual truth, if TCP makes a series where a "Cool" Ash beats all the characters with Ceruledge and build a harem of beautiful girls then that will be a massive hit compared to Horizons. This is how anime community really works and many people still insisting a garbage like XY series to be a masterpiece proves it.

When the show has protagonist like Liko and Roy, it requires the villains to be dumb for MC to have a chance against them. TRio got away with this because they were never portrayed as a serious threat and instead treated as a joke from the start. But HZ tired to treat The Explorer as a serious villain so people doesn't expect them to make dumb mistakes like TRio.

A lot of stuff in XY looked cool, and that was its purpose. Yajima's good at what he does, but there were definitely a few moments where I felt like the 3D camera wasn't needed. It would've been nice to keep the XY artstyle with SM's animation, but I get that that probably isn't feasible.
