You can do online trade with the server some people have made for the DS, but you need to apply a action replay code in order to modify this in game.
If you have a DSi or a 3DS, it's possible without action replay, but I don't really know how to do it, just seen that on Gbatemp some days ago.
You can always extract the save with a dongle, a flashcard, etc... and add them in it.
