I think the Waifu-type is a great idea, and I understand your decision to limit it to indisputably feminine Pokémon with the broadest positive reception.
However, you might have noticed from the other replies in this thread that there are many players who dearly treasure certain other Pokémon whose femininity requires more of an acquired taste to recognise. Nonetheless, these Pokémon still hold a special place in their hearts.
How about an item you can give any female Pokémon of your choice to hold which adds Waifu-type to it (akin to the move Trick-or-Treat), or replaces its type with Waifu?
You could only possess one of these items in a single save (like the discount ticket for example), or it could be a key item of some kind, to ensure that players only use it on their one special Pokémon.
