I have a friend I met online almost five years ago, I was in a larger chat for video games and him and a couple others and I branched off into a smaller chat for fire emblem. They all just assumed I was a guy, and I never corrected them because I thought it was amusing, of course, I assumed it was just going to end soon enought anyway. As time went on the chat died, but I still was talking and playing video games with my freind.
At this point, I'm just running the long con, he sent a picture of himself once but I obviously can't, I'm very obviously a girl, no covering it up. He knows my real name, but it's gender neutral and even more commonly used for boys. I didn't expect our friendship to last so long, and I feel bad I've blatantly lied about being a guy.
I can never tell him, he's ranted to me about how girls are confusing and shit, and I've told him my own stories with just the genders flipped, so I just have to keep up this lie until we one day stop talking.
