>>53410911That's because they think Ash is a dumbass who benefits from bad writing, the anime being marketed for kids, and because of the amount of times he's done unlikable, frustrating or just downright irritating bullshit only to be saved by the power of friendship or his pokemon getting hurt too bad because of his fuckups. Like, I'm just saying, there's got to be a huge reason why rewrites of Ash to fix his character, where he isn't as incompetent or unlikable and a lot more mature (even if he is 10, he isn't just resetting as a character in even arc blah blah) happens to be such a huge genre/motivation behind so many Pokemon fanfics (like that traveler one tons of people talk about), plus there's even the "I choose you" continuity where he's much, much smarter and skilled and prepared at being a trainer, even though he's just a novice learning at that point. He just doesn't feel like champion material and for me, personally, he's been coddled by the writers and plot too much, even if he has to triumph through adversity and emotional low points. And this is coming from someone who liked the comic, quirky, and fun vibes of the earliest Pokemon seasons and wanted Ash to succeed.
Also I don't care much for the yellow rat.
I choose N I guess
