Alright, let's take a look at Crash, the Whirlwind, the Number One Pokemon Trainer. Pretty straightforward goal, become number one trainer ever, protect friends and whatever family remains.
Best bud being Gale Storm, his Whimsicott, pretty much his best friend and partner. Original team's really strong by now. (Though in the tabletop game he's in, he's recently acquired lots of things fitting to his theme, like Rowlet, Rufflet, and Rotom). That theme being flighty and floaty Pokemon. Anything that can catch some air, with minor exceptions.
Original bois:
Gale Storm: His Whimsicott, emulates his own trainer, peppy boi with some hidden baggage, often poses when going out into battle
Blazette: Larvesta, shy and modest, yet unrelenting, a ridiculous amount of loyalty, can't really take a compliment at all
Fisher: Lax Wingull, general mediator/lazy boi whenever seen, occasionally flies off somewhere if he isn't in need
Honey Buns: Scary Vespiquen, pretty angery 'mon, but still cares about her trainer, relatively brutal in combat
Paladia: Mawile having not-so-recently acquired Mega Evolution, adores her trainer and wishes to kick Gale Storm off of the 'best partner' perch, quite charismatic, and can pull people to her advantage easily
