I think in general designs that are cute and elegant appeal to a more broad audience. This is why Gardevoir, Lopunny, Delphox and Zoroark are, according to these polls, the most smashable Pokémon and they also get a steady stream of porn unlike Tsareena and other designs that get good smash percent but no porn.
