>>33821732>gen1Horrible gameplay-wise, fun to exploit and break these days.
>gen2 Gameplay still blew but at least you got two maps.
>gen3Running feels fantastic. A huge leap forwards in graphics, a lot more endgame content especially in emerald. Double blattles are fun. Gameplay still awkward.
>gen4Finally fixed damage types essentially fixing the gameplay for all future titles. DS wifi connectivity was good compared to link cables.
>gen5Most gen1 like roster when it comes to pokemons, few goodies mixed in with literal garbage bags and ice cream cones. Ruined the competitive with horribly designed genies and also has the worst legendaries by a huge margin.
>gen6Didn't play. Ruined VGC scene completely ORAS and genies still plagued competitive. Mega evolutions as a gimmick had potential.
>gen7Competitive is the best it's been in a long time and the singleplayer is good. Most memorable NPC's/plot so far in any pokemon related title I've played. Does away with HM slaves at last. Z crystals as a gimmick allow for a lot more viable strategies especially via the support moves. Endgame is shallow but hopefully usum fixes that.
