So, instead matching the colours of the Pokémon with the ball (Chansey in Heal Ball, Gyarados in Great Ball etc.), I try to catch Pokémon in balls that make the most sense for their context.

So, starters would be in Pokéballs obviously, because that's how you get them in-game. Fishing encounters or Bug-type Pokémon would be in Net Balls because they work best on them and make sense contextually. Cave/night exclusive encounters would be in Dusk Balls obviously. Surf encounters in Dive Balls, friendship evolutions in Friend Balls, Heavy Balls on heavy Pokémon, Fast Balls on fast Pokémon, and so on.

Basically, balltism triggers my autism because that's not how Pokéballs are used in the Pokémon universe. Why would you use a Dive Ball on a Swablu when it doesn't appear in the water? Or a Dusk ball on a Yanma when it's not a night-exclusive encounter?

Anyone else have this?

It seems like the apricot and dream/beast balls aren't in just yet sadly. (Probably DLC?)

For the 4 dark legendaries I'm thinking;
Wo-chien - Best would be safari but you can't get, so I'm thinking maybe dusk?
Ting-lu. Level would be best but that's not in too, so luxury 2nd best?
Chien-pao - Obviously dive ball
Chi-yu - I like repeat ball for this, it matches the eyes
