Restarting my Diamond run because it's been a long time. Rolled Turtwig as a starter, and quickly got a Starly encounter and a bunch of Bidoofs. (My rule for Dupes Clause is that I have two tries of an activated Dupes Clause before I'm forced to catch the third.) I did manage to get an Onix for my first raw encounter for Oreburgh Mine, so that balances the bad luck I suppose. Roark went super easy, Atlas swept his first two Pokemon with Razor Leaf, then Olympia tanked his Cranidos and took it out with Screech-boosted Rock Throws. Pretty trivial up to this point, onto Floaroma Town.
>>53698999Tough losses, getting hella complacent is the biggest Nuzlocke killer. Your current team should be able to deal with the Elite Four, but Ghetsis will definitely be a big problem.
>>53696197The game implies that you can do whatever you want in any order, but there is a set level for each "boss" (gyms, titans, Star bases). Look up online the order in which you should do stuff. The Team Star bases are actually pretty fucking hard, plan well around those. I think the finale that happens after you finish all three paths is part of the main story and I would consider it part of a Nuzlocke. Some people here don't count it, but I think it's worth finishing on a first playthrough. I actually loved the final boss, kind of salvaged the game for me.
>>53696189I think Rare Candies are perfectly fine for a Nuzlocke as long as you've cleared all the level-cap relevant routes. Especially for the Red fight, which is such a ridiculous grind. Congrats on the win while super underleveled! Getting the dub with Parasect & Corsola is an extra challenge in its own right.
