It's greatest moment was when it went back to the formula. SM was a bold experiment but ultimately a failure.
But I can get why the experiment happened. Where do you go after XY? you follow the formula again and you're just going to get "XY but worse".
Thank God Tomiyasu learned from SM's failure and mixed the formula instead of breaking it. But that's to be expected of the man who wrote the Serena Hair cut kino episode.
