>>41248222Even IF you take your time it's still shorter than the other games.
>just about every single game prior to SWSH has a break from the gym challenge to deal with the evil team (Sliph Co, Aether Corp, Lilycove Base/Underground Cavern, Mt. Coronet, etc)>SWSH's "evil team" is just Spikemuth gym trainers, so by beating Gym 7 you're also dealing with the evil team at the same time since you don't fight Team Yell at any point after the 7th gym>length between 6th, 7th and 8th gym are all extremely short to the point where there's barely even a route separating Pier's and Raihan's gyms>when dealing with Olenana's hide and seek you simply go up an elevator and fight ~3 trainers in double battles where they all have one Pokemon each>after this you're pretty much in endgame and the game ties up the League, Rose's plot AND the Legendary all at onceSWSH's plot is rushed from both a writing and gameplay standpoint, the pacing up to the first gym is good but as soon as you get near the ~3rd gym it just feels like a boss rush. You can lengthen it by spending a lot of time catching and raising wild Pokemon but this does a myriad of bad things
A) it now gives you less to do in postgame since the battle tower is a joke
B) can be done in literally any Pokemon game
C) makes you stupid overleveled unless you box your whole main team since you can't turn off EXP share
Game is objectively short, shorter than other mainline Pokemon games and STUPIDLY shorter than other JRPGs. $60 my ass.
