I actually liked Shauna, could have been handled better but she was fine for what she was. Good way to handle rivals, make the one with the starter that beats yours a bitch and the one who chose that starter yours is good against nice and friendly. I think they should have made Calem/Serena bitchier and made a male counterpart for Shauna (for the girls playing, just make him a super nice brown boy, kind of like Hau, really), as well as giving you a "cruelty" option of rejecting their advances and making them cry. That would be fun and lead to some memorable moments. When I was a kid I hated loveydovey stuff and telling Shauna to go to hell would have been funny and I would have liked it.
