It becomes fat and ugly. There's a lot of Pokemon that become fat, but most of them at least aren't this ugly. It gets this nasty, mud color, it's markings are replaced with those disgusting looking pimples, and it becomes so fat it looks like it can barely even move. It's a regression, rather than progression. Other than the flower, it improves literally nothing, and ruins everything. Thankfully, M-Venusaur fixes most of these problems. Venusaur should've just been retconned, and they should've made M-Venusaur's design it's default design.
To put it in a more simple way, Ivysaur can still look okay without the flower. Remove the flower from Venusaur, and you get a thing more hideous than fucking Muk.
