I'll start, Cheren is a character that is a great example of someone who gradually grows with experience. During BW's story, he tries so hard to surpass his friends on their Pokémon journey. He starts out really stubborn, and a bit of a know-it-all. He tries everything in his power to become the champion, he wants to be the strongest trainer. But when asked why he wants to accomplish this feat, he isn't sure how to answer that. Throughout the many battles we have with him as the MC, he questions his reasoning for becoming strong until he's satisfied with his dedication and perseverance by the end of the game. That is why I consider him to be my personal favourite rival.
