>>48735495Pic related for me, it's pretty much just the combination of story and gameplay, I think Pokemon adds a unique element to Roguelikes that you don't see in much of the rest of the genre since they're generally more focused on either the hard reset aspect of the gameplay when the player is defeated in a dungeon or focusing on a single character build and gameplay style. I also like how Pokemon that might not get as much attention in the main series can sometimes get a moment to shine either with a unique character or a boss encounter that elaborates more on them as a species.
