XY. Seems like people didn't start really shitting on Gen VI until after ORAS was out, and Gen VI, despite its shortcomings, really isn't that bad. Plus, when the community is so negative as a whole it isn't as fun. This is why I am loving all of the SM hype- people are genuinely excited for Pokemon again.
Pokemon is, above all else, above all missteps and backsteps, incrementally getting better with each game. I miss particular features from bygone games but there is no way I'd actually go back.
