>>55616597Nice work! Your writing is evocative and descriptive, and you did a very effective job of depicting how the characters care about each other, which makes it easy for the audience to care about the protagonists too. I really liked seeing the bond between the trio, and the lengths they'll go to help each other. Also, the action is exciting, and the ending scene is nice and comfy. I also like your art, as always. And it was cool to finally get the backstory of the Strangers' pirate days.
As for criticism: first, you should've given some examples of the bad things these pirates have done, instead of just telling us they're "so bad they make you question your morals". Showing the audience specific examples makes it more believable and understandable.
Second, I question how realistic it is that
the crew would instantly betray their captain after Kiyo makes one accusation. I know they're drunk, but wouldn't they trust their captain more than some random guy who joined them only recently? May have been better if you added some hints/suggestions that the crew had misgivings about the captain beforehand, to help explain why they mutiny so easily. Also, unless I missed it, there's no description of any pain Kiyo feels when he's in the ocean with his open wound. I feel like that was an oversight, since the saltwater probably would've made it hurt even more. Besides, describing his pain would give his struggles more impact.
Lastly, you should've explained Fatty's species earlier. I was confused about what Pokemon she was at first.
Anyway, cool story! I think this is my favorite out of the three you've written. Keep up the good work!
