>>33843008The Kroger in me acknowledges that USUM will be better games, and that I enjoyed vanilla SM quite a bit. I found it to be the most fun I'd had with a Pokemon game since Platinum, and yes the story helped that. I don't do much in the way of raising Pokemon in the post-game so SM's steps back in that regard didn't effect me. Nor do I care for the Battle Frontier.
The Goupon in me says that this business practice is a load of shit, and that I've never actually purchased an updated version. That for the people who do care about post-game and user friendly competitive Pokemon production it, SM were bad and USUM likely won't do much to help matters. Not making these games sequels like BW2 speaks to GameFreak's ineptitude with handling 3D assets and how much difficulty they've experienced since the transition. Since the story direction was such a big draw for SM, I can't imagine why they wouldn't even attempt to capitalize on the audience who enjoyed it by pushing it forward. In that way, a director's cut is a much worse decision for a game that traded replay value for story emphasis.
Final verdict: Piracy.
