Unless they bring that back up again, it's not really canon as much as it was an excuse to not show off its evolved form so soon into the AG series but still have Ash's treeko get mentored).
Mald some more kid, I'm gonna still love my Delphox regardless, more so because the fact it exists drives you to this state.
