>>40578352For a couple years in gen 6 and 7, I had a little sort of tradition where I'd breed a bunch of starters and wintry Pokemon (like Delibird and winter Deerling) and Wonder Trade them on Christmas. And I always named the Delibird Santa or Mrs. Claus and gave them items. I did it in hopes that they'd go to kids who got the games for Christmas and were just starting out, so they could get some nice Pokemon and items.
I also hoped other people had the same idea, so I might end up getting some nice presents too. I never got anything good, thoughOne year, a Christmas miracle happened: I was breeding Chimchar and one egg hatched into a Shiny. And it was female, so that was even more special and rare. She was Jolly and had decent IVs, so I was able to train her and use her in competitive battles. She wasn't the first Shiny I ever encountered, but she was the first one I ever bred.
