If Pokemon didn't spawn in on the overworld I would consider it worse than some other methods, but since they do it's easily the most fun I've had hunting. Roaming around looking for shinies while listening to a podcast is pretty comfy, and I'm almost guaranteed to get at least one shiny per sandwich so I don't feel like I'm wasting my time, either

Gen 1 and 2 mons don't appeal to me either since I can just duplicate and trade over infinite shinies from the Virtual Console rereleases once HOME connectivity becomes a thing so I'd rather just wait for that
