If anything, it was because the conservatives were in power and were often moving to fuck with people's rights, generally imposing their values on others. Now the liberals are in power and often moving to fuck with people's rights by imposing their values. Leftist pundits used to be the ones who smugly laid down the hard facts against an irrational right, but now the left has shackled itself to political correctness and gets shat all over by rightist pundits. No one bats an eye at atheists anymore and it's not that relevant, so people who try and make a big deal out of it get shot down as fedora-tippers.
"lol niggerfaggot" lingo existed because no one gave a fuck. There was no great intent to oppress blacks or gays - no one had time for that shit and anyone who put that much energy into it was as likely to get ridiculed as anyone else. It was meant to offend those who didn't get it so they could be weeded out. You'd get called a faggot by anons fapping to traps. The fact that you think saying the words "lol niggerfaggot" indicates a necessarily bigoted bent shows that you don't get it.
