>>46285222>one absolute dogshit releaseIt follows the same design principles from its predecessor and GF has said very explicitly that this is the direction they want going forward, so it's perfectly understandable that many people would check out after SWSH's release.
I've already gotten to the point where I'm just buying used if at all. I regrettably bought a copy of Sword used, but like yourself I've done next to nothing with it as the game is just too dogshit to enjoy. I thought I could at least scratch that itch for battling, but it's just not cutting it.
I'm waiting for gen IX to see if they continue this direction. If so, I'm definitely checking out entirely. I'll get rid of all my previous games, too--Can at least get some money for them for other things I'll enjoy. I don't particularly enjoy even looking at them as it currently stands, I'm just holding out in the vain hope that SWSH is the worst it'll ever get and that it can only get better from here.
>>46286935That anon said "personality", not animation. Pic related, the static sprite of Scizor from HGSS. It's only one static pose, but it's more interesting than the 3D era model. That's the point. They used to get creative with sprite poses, and it was fun to see how each Pokemon would look when it came time for a new game.
