>>37980065Not him, but on the whole Gym Leader should use new pokemon, I agree with him. It would have been real nice if Chuck used a Hitmontop in team, or if Morty used a Misdreavus. It shows off the mons to the plays, which in turn the players might add one of their own to their team. In my original Ruby, when I got to Flannery and she used a Torkoal, I wanted to add one to my team, so I went back to Fiery Path and tried to encounter one (it has the second lowest encounter rate in that area). So yes, I feel it's important for the Gym Leaders to show off the new moms and GameFreak has taken note, since post-Gen 2, every gym leader uses a Pokemon from the same generation they were introduced in.
