Lucario, MegaCario and Edgezard have similar stylistics, yet none of them sports Dark typing.
Poke-Dark =/= sly/evil; edgy design =/= Dark type design.

Why wasn't Gallade retyped to Fairy/Fighting? Nothing in his combat use/design/characteristics implies having anything to do with being part Psychic, plus Psychic/Fighting is a horrible, inferior typing that needs insanely powerful abilities just to catch up with the rest of the crowd. It decays faster than other combinations, not to mention that it is now as common as Fire/Fighting.

Whew, I'm done with my quota of pure autism for today.

Besides, other cause for gen IV's Pokemon being forgettable stems from the massive amount of new evolutions for older evo families - most of which are seemingly so hated for being added to already complete lines, that many a trainer tries his/her best to forget that they even exist.

< Case in point:
ex aequo with Rhyperior.

By far the best evolve-upon-trade Pokemon within the first generation and the only such one that I felt butthurt about not being able to obtain during my first playthrough ever.
