>>38024785I'm just gonna talk about some stuff I like in them I guess
>gen 1 lots of good memories playing stadium and watching the anime, RBY don't really hold up, but it's the start of the series and very special
>gen 2 similar experience with stadium 2 and the anime, basically cared more about those than the actual gen 1 and 2 main games
>gen 3 stopped watching the anime, focused more on the games. really loved the music and pokemon in hoenn, I like weirder mons and objectmons and gen 3 onward I feel Pokemon started to become really unique
>gen 4 skipped because no DS and poor. this has really affected my perception of the gen in a negative way. I basically don't have any attachment to it, and the biggest things about it I do like are cross gen evos of older mons
>gen 5absolute favorite. favorite pokemon, music, characters. The story isn't good, but I appreciate a story in the games. If you just plopped me on a map and told me to train, I feel like I would lose interest after a while, a story gives me something to play towards and that's fine with me as long as I can still use my favorite mons
>gen 6 added a lot of nice features that I love, most important to me is character customization. I really enjoy personalizing myself in games and roleplaying as something I am not. Along with Amie making my experience with my bros feel more special, I used that shit all the time. I also really prefer 3D over sprites, feels more lively
>gen 7 just kinda going along with gen 6 and adding QoL changes which are always nice. cutscenes are unbearable, but I didn't mind them the first time through. A lot of things about the region made me smile, like the environments or talking to NPCs and seeing Pokemon interract in the overworld, again just making things feel more lively and real. Also just really love the music and Pokemon
>gen 8 scorbunny is cute
