I personally enjoyed Gen 7's new Pokemon, especially Litten's line, the Popplio line, Toucannon line, Gumshoos is a good, the Vikavolt line (one of my all-time faves actually, Vikavolt is), Salazzle, Wishiwashi, Crabbrawler, Cosmog, and Buzzwole is one of the coolest Pokemon ever. Sure their names were easy to decipher and understand, and sure there were just a few new Pokemon introduced vs the other gens, but I personally liked it.
I will say that as a Poke-boomer, it's getting hard for me to immediately know what Pokemon is from which Gen. I can do this perfectly up and including Gen 4.
