Cheating would be hacking. Or editing. This is simply fast forward. Which is in fact able to be used legit on a real gameboy via the stadium plug in on a tv screen with dodrio mode. So just as legit as that method.
Plus I was not hatching for a shiny anyways
At the end of the day it's single player since it's emulated so who cares right?
