>>47573445The savage redpill is that most Pokemon games are fun, enjoyable experiences, even if nearly all of them could be better in some way, shape or form. If you listen to /vp/ you'll walk away thinking most Pokemon games are shit, but that's not true.
X and Y introduced the PSS, which was very fun to use. As a child, I didn't make the most of it, because I was turned off by Team Flare, and your three friends. But having replayed a little bit of Y a few months back, I wish I had, because I still remember thinking Wonder Trades were really cool as a kid, and I still have an Arceus and Meloetta that I got my friend that I met online to give me. It's a wonderful feature.
I was resistant to Megas at first, but I grew to like them as well. I prefer them to Z-Moves which look silly and Dynamax, which makes me roll my eyes. Z-Moves are nice when they were a thing alongside Megas though. You basically had one alt form and one bomb so to speak. It was really cool.
>Why do people here generally dislike X and Y so much?I'm going to go out on a limb and say that it's Team Flare and your buddies, since that's what turned me off from the game as a kid. Coming off of Team Plasma and Cheren and Bianca they're a big step down. I think the girl is the best of them, because of that incident with the Furfrou. As a kid that whole thing annoyed me, but as an adult, I liked it better. I think it annoyed me as a kid because I was trying to get to the next town ASAP for whatever reason. Last time I was more immersed.
There's other stuff like the game feeling unfinished, or the Exp. Share making it too easy. I don't know how true that first thing is, but I think there's some merit to the Exp. Share thing. People say it's not so bad if you turn it off, so I figure the levels weren't scaled with it in mind. The Exp. Share being party wide is definitely a good thing though, it just needed some adjustments. There was no Z version, which probably would've been better.
