And that's Ash(MC) Dawn(popular character and Piplup), Goh(can catch any mon), and Chloe(Eevee) no other characters have the weight for permanent returns. if the new anime underperforms, and they want to revert back to Ash, they can quickly get the others to hop in.
But again, I don't think this will happen.
