Back from work, and sweeped through what is essentially the 2nd Horizons episode with a COTD. What I appreciate about the show so far is the handling within the worldbuilding and the intersecting parts across characters, for how they are adding to the progression of Liko, Roy and Dot. With Wakaba from the Kabu episode, it was a straight forward message for Liko to put her will first instead of appeasing others. That plus Mollie's advice from last week have managed to accelerate Liko's progression quo.
Tepen on the other hand is a interesting case, because he was someone who got cold foot over the years as another adventurer and became more of underhanded man to get what he wants as a thief up until that point. Someone can always himself a dig hole, but it takes sometimes more guts to come out of the hole for the confrontation in order to get something bigger back. And Tepen found his will to return to the adventure after seeing his feelings through the reflection on Bronzor's back with him in his older days.
While I am on board with some of the others with Friede and Cap being great characters, their involvement is kinda redundant despite it being more toned to being more reasonable (What were Liko and Roy gonna do after 3/4th of their Pokemon were abruptly put to sleep by Foongus, turning the odds into a 1vs5 within an instant?)
The focus is more on how they would make Friede skip out on the involvement. Writing him sick can pass for a few episodes or days, but maybe handling it by taking a page out of one of my favorite GBA games and make Liko and Roy split up, with Friede getting tossed around for a long while which can act as the excuse to skip out on him for an arc, to give all the focus onto the kids.
Unrelated note, can confirm what
