>>48196604Hate this strawman. Most villains have reasons and excuses for why they do bad things. Here's the thing, not all reasons and excuses have to be good ones (and also "good" reasons don't necessarily make a good villain). Often people do bad things for not-so-good reasons. What matters is being compelling. I get what anon is saying about female characters, there's a tendency for their actions to always be excused or justified in a way that just leaves us to cheer or feel sympathy or pity them. There's no villain anymore, it's a waifu or power fantasy. Think how Harley Quinn is being written nowadays.
Lusamine was a compelling villain to stand with the others in the series but is not even part of the literal League of Villains in USUM.
