smogon is built on usability, which is defined as how likely you are to see mons, well, usability applies to the userbase too. How likely are you to see a player of ELO X > x ? In all competitive games, nearly 90% of the playerbase is complete trash casuals, yet you don't see the game being balanced around what casual players think is fun, i.e. to maximize fun and/or good casual gameplay experience, like say in soccer where even the size of the field and rules included depends on the players, do you?
