Rowlet is okay but I hate the fans.
Popplio is the best first-stage starter since Oshawott, which means I heavily fear its evolutions will make it trash but for now it's the cutest starter ever.
That being said, I don't have high hopes for Gen VII. Gen VI had great starters and great Pokémon in general in my opinion but they dropped the ball in pretty much every other way.
