>>50263346I was so fucking exited when they announced Vaporeon would be getting Scald. I like Vaporeon and thought it might get some use as a Gym Defender or at least an above-average attacker, which is something that almost all of the Eeveelutions are aside from the more PVP-oriented Umbreon. And like with Drain Punch,m the idea of Scald being good was also exciting for future CDs and events, and just as a coverage move for so many different Pokémon.
But then it turned out to be a shit move. Shit in PVP, shit in PVE. Completely useless. Such a fucking waste of a move that could've been great, it could've made so many otherwise middling or bad Pokémon more relevant. But now it never will.
And honestly, seeing how much Niantic has been forcing PVP and how often new CD moves are just for PVP (and even there, often disappointing) it just makes me feel like Niantic doesn't give two shits about PVE at this point. And that is literally the fucking reason why Pokémon Go is being played by so many. No matter how much they try to force their failed PVP monstrosity, the fact is that most people don't care for it. And Niantic putting so much emphasis on it over PVE is killing PoGO.
And again, the fact that all of the moves have separate stats for PVE and PVP means that Niantic literally CHOOSES to make the moves bad in PVE. That's just a fucking middle finger to everyone who playes PVE.
