I swear dude, caves are the worst. But, they've got some of the coolest Pokémon in them, and I'm a fan of hiking, so I usually find myself travelling through them often.
>be me
>vacation to Sinnoh for the summer
>fan of hiking, and I've seen and heard how many cool routes, caves, and mountains Sinnoh has
>save up enough Pokédollars to take a plane there (I live in Unova so it's not a Fly's distance)
>passed through 206 to get to Wayward (not a bike guy, but that bridge is damn nice)
>have my Joltik use Flash to light the place up
>not even a minute into the cave, a few Geodude and a Bronzor jump me
>shouldn't be too hard to deal with, so I send out Escavalier (I'm a Bug guy)
>Brutal Swing on them all; Bronzor goes down
>have him use Iron Head on the Geodude that hadn't fainted; knocks them out cold
>one of the Geodude, as it falls, lands on the Bronzor lying flat on the ground
>makes this loud noise
>sounds like a gong being hit mixed with someone punching a pane of glass
>can feel it vibrating through the ground
Now, in case any of you aren't familiar with caves, deep vibrations like that wake up Pokémon sleeping in the dirt... which is never good.
>an Onix bursts through the ground in front of me
>a handful of Gible also pop out and immediately begin chasing me
>don't even bother trying to battle them all; return Escavalier and hightail it
>Onix hot on my tail the whole time
>multiple Gible nipping at my ass
>the Onix stopped as soon as I made it out, but the Gible kept chasing
>had to jump into the river near the cave entrance to escape them
>they all wander back into the cave eventually
I had to sit in the river until they all decided it wasn't worth it anymore.
I'm pretty sure one of them was Hasty, since it almost hopped in after me before realizing that I was in the water.
I've got a few more stories from that trip to Sinnoh. It was fun, of course, but that wasn't the last encounter I had that didn't end well.
