>>39695979I have come to the conclusion that Gen 1 Kanto is supposed to take place in real-world Kanto, Japan (only region to share name with the real place is based on). This is the reason why it's plagued with the now-strange references to places like South America and Indian elephants.
I don't begrudge the decission of cementing it as a fantasy world, as otherwise there would be conflicting information.
