>>40706796>>40706957Same. I don't know what it is about the design philosophy about this gen, but it just doesn't have that patented pokèmon feel to it. I find it really hard to believe that it's just the result of Turner being in charge of art direction this time around, especially since I personally quite like some of his previous mon designs. Even gen 6 and 7, that have my least favorite regional dexes in general, had some pokèmon designs that instantly became my favorites. This time around not a single new mon revealed so far has had that effect, and all of them lack that something that's usually present in (nearly) all pokèmon. It's like the whole generation was designed by the same dude who was in charge of Crabrawler, which also in my opinion looks more like a fakemon than a real one for some reason.
