It doesn't matter who's creating/using new technology, it must be a conscious process of consideration, regardless of political structure. Technology has the potential to help us, and to create dystopian nightmares. It's a tool, like anything else (at least until we give it sentience).

A better world will produce a better man. Environment, need and want fulfillment, these are vastly important things to consider. If we live in a world where these tyrants will seek us out to destroy us, even after a peaceful separation, then we must defend ourselves.
