>>50688935It's a pun. Japanese people do this ALL THE TIME in Japanese. The word for chestnuts in Japanese is "kuri". However, that is also the English onomatopoeia in Japan for the word "curly". So when Japanese speakers hear, they understand that it's a double meaning.
When English speakers hear it, it is better to translate it to "chestnuts" with a translator note letting the English viewer know it is a pun on the word "chestnuts" and the English onomatopoeia "curly". The problem is translator notes are taboo nowadays because of how many idiot translators abused it and how many parodies it has.
Long story short: It should be "chestnuts" with a translator note of "curly". Some-Stuffs was more accurate than PM in this context.
